I bought this handy dandy memory card reader, so I can finally get my pictures off of my old camera onto my new-ish laptop.  Yay!  I decided to celebrate by documenting the construction of my equally handy dandy speaker stands.  Usually, I just buy stuff like this, but I don't think that anything that's just 3 pieces of wood glued together should cost 90 dollars.  It's just not right.  So I bought this stuff from Home Despot:

and I got to work nailing it all together.

At this point, I got reminded of the fact that I am, no doubt, a total and abject failure when it comes to lo-tech construction:

My kingdom for a drill gun!  Oh well, I got the second one put together alright, and I primed it using the super special primer they sell at the Despot.  Did it work? It didn't even cover the whole thing.

So now I'm faced with having to go back to the store to buy more primer.  Um...no!  So I dug out my backup solution, good old GW spray primer.  Yeah, its black, so what?  It's all going to be black at the end, so it doesn't matter, right?  Right? But for now, I have a zebra stand.

More as it develops.....
