tokyo arrival
Dec. 31st, 2002 08:45 amI slept my first night in Tokyo, and I have one word for you.....ok, maybe not one word. The family Kevin and I are staying with are very nice, and Otosan (what I'm supposed to call the father) is a good cook, in spite of all of Kevin's warnings ^_^ The flight was non-eventful, even the baby in front of us went to sleep after about 30 minutes. The food here is incredible. We had kamatori (a sort of sushi platter) for dinner. It's made up of tuna, squid, salmon, and some fish I don't know. Really really really good. Kevin has been playing around with his camera, and the amount of stuff he can do with it almost makes me wish I had a digital camera, but of course only 9 megapixels would be good enough to satisfy my perfectionist tendancies. ^_^ We are going around the city today, the subway map defies description. I need to come back here for about 8 weeks, just to figure out how to get around town. We're off to get my HRC shirt first though. More updates tomorrow, if I'm not hungover....it Is new years eve here, after all.
