Would that it were so...
I wrote two mini-reviews for movies this summer, one for Kung-Fu Panda and one more for its direct competition, WALL-E. I actually had to write two for WALL-E, because of the multiple ways to watch the movie.
I'm not even going to try to write anything for The Dark Knight.
The movie - no, the film is too complex, too nuanced, and simply too good for some rank amateur critic like me to try to explain everything I thought was good about it.
If a comic book movie will ever get an Oscar for something besides effects or sound, this is as good a chance as there ever will be.

By the end of the movie I reflected back on it. I could only describe it as similar to watching an entire season of Batman the Animated Series in one sitting, epic!
